Silvervest ist das Duo-Projekt der Poetin Kim Zombik und des Kontrabassisten Nic Caloia, das sich im Bereich Storytelling, Soundscapes, Jazz und Jangling bewegt. Silvervest bietet frische Musik, die intuitiv und kraftvoll ist. Kims Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit Ästhetik und Ideen, die von ihren Erfahrungen als Frau der afrikanischen Diaspora inspiriert sind. Oder in den Worten von Josef Woodard im Downbeat: “In terms of inventive new concepts with historical roots, Montreal’s Silvervest […] cooks up a sound that is savory, witty and flecked with surprising twists, with hints of Abbey Lincoln, Billie Holiday and hip-hopping post-beat poetry. Stir and enjoy.”
